Before visiting Qingdao, get to know the four bays in the front sea area of Qingdao

When coming to Qingdao for a visit, the main attraction is the sea. Qingdao is surrounded by the sea on three sides. The coastline we usually visit is along the southern coastal area. The back sea area in Sifang District, for example, is not developed and not suitable for tourism. In addition, the coastline near Laoshan can only be seen when visiting Laoshan.

So, for the southern coastal area, we should first have an overall understanding.

This stretch of the coastline can be divided into four bays, among which is Fushan Bay where the 2008 Olympic Games were held.

According to the Chinese habit, from west to east, they are Qingdao Bay, Huiquan Bay, Taiping Bay, and Fushan Bay.

The four bays are arranged from west to east.

To the west, the first bay is Qingdao Bay. You may not be familiar with Qingdao Bay, but you must know the Zhanqiao Pier. The Zhanqiao Pier is located in Qingdao Bay. The European Prison Museum, the Naval Museum, etc. are all in this scenic area.

The second bay is Huiquan Bay. Huiquan Bay starts from Xiaoqingdao in the west and ends at Huiquan Cape in the east. Huiquan Bay has charming scenery and is one of the famous coastal scenic areas. There are the Qingdao Underwater World, a landmark building in Qingdao, and the largest bathing beach in China - the No.1 Bathing Beach in Qingdao. Every midsummer, there are so many people swimming that we use the phrase "like dumplings in a pot" to describe the scene.

Then comes Taiping Bay. The third one is Taiping Bay. When it comes to Taiping Bay, we have to mention the Badaguan Scenic Area and the No.2 Bathing Beach. The Badaguan Scenic Area is well - known far and wide and is a famous sanatorium area in China. It covers a large area of more than 70 hectares and can take you half a day to explore. Ten quiet and cool roads criss - cross in it, and it is a scenic area that best embodies the characteristics of Qingdao with "red tiles, green trees, blue sea, and clear sky".

The so - called "Badaguan" gets its name because there are eight roads here (now increased to ten), named after eight passes of the Great Wall, namely Shaoguan Road, Jiayuguan Road, Hangu Pass Road, Zhengyangguan Road, Linhuai Pass Road, Ningwu Pass Road, Zijingguan Road, and Juyongguan Road. These ten roads criss - cross, forming a scenic area covering several square miles, so it is collectively called "Badaguan".

To the far east is Fushan Bay. Finally, it is Fushan Bay. As mentioned before, the 2008 Olympic sailing competitions were held here. Fushan Bay best reflects the fashionable and modern side of Qingdao and attracts a large number of tourists from all over the country every day. Once you soar into the sky like a bird and overlook this familiar land, the former scene will take on a different look.
